August 2018 - Updates to Rich Text Editor
Fixed! Issues with pasting in the rich text editor have been resolved.
The latest update to the Foxbright CMS included an overhaul of the CKEditor used in the rich text editor block type. Unfortunately, pasting without clicking the paste as word or plain text buttons allowed various html styles to be added to a page. We have fixed this bug. Pasting without using the paste as word button will now correctly strip the formatting from content as it used to, with a few caveats:
- Pasting from a Microsoft Word document will convert the formatting to correct heading styles with or without the use of the 'paste from word' button. If pasting as plain text from a Word document is needed, use ctrl+shift+V.
- Pasting from online or other content sources will strip all formatting unless the 'paste from word' button is used.
- We've removed the paste as plain text button because it was both redundant, and it was stripping out <p> tags from some content making re-formatting more difficult.
Please Note: If you find improperly formatted text that was added during the window that the CKEditor was causing problems, highlight the text and click the 'remove format' button in the editor toolbar.
