What is a cache anyway?

Why do I need to clear it?

Your computer's browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox or others) automatically keeps a copy of the website files that you use frequently in order to make browsing the internet faster. 

Your computer's browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox or others) automatically keeps a copy of the website files that you use frequently in order to make browsing the internet faster.  There is no need to wait for files to download if you already have a copy right there on your computer.  Sometimes, however, right after Foxbright updates the content management system code, it can take a little while for your computer to realize that a new, different file is available.  Trying to use the Foxbright CMS using old, outdated files that are stored on your computer can cause undesired results.  While your computer is good at figuring this out eventually and refreshing the files, you can help it along by clearing out your cache, essentially making your computer get a fresh copy of all the files it may be using.   Instructions on how to do this can be found below:

Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome

  1. Open your browser.
  2. Press Ctrl Shift Delete keys (Please note that this is different than Ctrl Alt Delete which is used to reset your computer!)
  3. Make sure that only Temporary Internet Files or Cache is selected as seen in the images below

4.  Click the "Clear" or "Delete" buttons to finish clearing your cache.

5.  If you are already on your website be sure to refresh your page to see the new files in action.

Safari

  1. Click the "Gear" in the upper right corner of your browser and select "Reset Safari"

  2. Make sure that "Remove all website data" is the only box checked and click "Reset"
