Custom Redesign
Wayne-Westland Community Schools
Arguably more of a 'Glow-Up' than a full redesign, our friends at WWCSD came to us for some reorganization ideas. Our suggestion to add the tab-based sections featured in our newest designs lead to a more comprehensive refresh. Already in a custom design and not looking to majorly change the site structure, we were able to add some modern flair to the tried and true design WWCSD had already been rocking for years.
Project Highlights
- Tab sections added as option to all layouts.
- New hover effects, borders and rounded off edges for a welcoming and interactive feel.
- Color adjustments to district and building theme colors and headings to strategically lighten the mood and let content breathe, without introducing unnecessary white space.
I want to thank you and the rest of your behind-the-scenes team for your hard work on this website facelift! My daughter said the website had a glow-up. :). It really does look great.

The Humble Pine
Foxbright's newest resident evergreen (we still love you, Juniper) and most recent design offering grew new branches this summer!
Cass City Public Schools
When long-time partners Cass City Public Schools approached Foxbright for a redesign, they had enlisted a few students to workshop ideas for a new website. Several of their suggested elements happened to be an arm's throw from what we'd been designing within the Pine template, making it a natural choice. When fun and creative efforts collide, the result is greater than either of us originally imagined!
Project Highlights
- Unique and minimal 'ticker' style display for the most immediate upcoming events (kudos to the students for that idea).
- Captivating 'points of pride' area infused with district branding and context from the district's strategic plan.
- Tab sections supported strategic reorganization efforts, helping visitors find what they need faster. To highlight one example: the Cass City Wellness Center formerly occupied five subpages, now a single approachable page.
Allendale Public Schools
Being one of our earliest partners with a previous design in production for nearly a decade, Allendale Public Schools primary goal was an aggressive clean out of old pages, files and data. Happy to oblige, we backed up and purged a massive amount of unused and outdated content along with a thorough site-wide audit of pages that could be consolidated, removed redirects pointing every which way, and an impressive flattening of building landing pages.
Project Highlights
- Thorough reorganization effort reduced the sitemap by half, keeping the important stuff front and center for visitors without requiring exhaustive drop menus.
- Building landing pages became the hub for each school with most content contained on their homepages, with visual image-based spotlights pointing to the rest.
- Custom texture backgrounds offer a scrolling effect for hero banner area and a homepage building list, providing a launch point for all schools and programs.
Juniper, Still Standing Tall
Despite being one of the longest standing designs in our current lineup, Juniper's timeless functionality keeps it a top choice for flexibility and customization. Juniper is like the 'one size fits all' of template designs that still creates sites that look entirely different from the next.
Buena Regional School District
We love the opportunity to branch out into new regions, so hearing from Buena Schools from New Jersey was a treat after recently working with other districts from the Atlantic state. When discussing design, BRSD fell in love with one of our custom designs and asked what template could get them closest. Juniper did as Juniper does and provided a wonderful canvas for a custom-like experience.
Project Highlights
- Juniper's traditional three column tab design was collapsed to two columns, better fitting the content BRSD wanted for the homepage.
- Creative use of accent fonts and strategic arrow-styled elements highlight BRSD's Chief Pride.
- Adding Foxbright's district branded app and mass notifications allowed BRSD to consolidate several different products into a more streamlined and affordable solution.
Chippewa Valley Schools
Having partnered with Foxbright for a decade and using the same design, we were excited for the opportunity to bring CVS into a more modern look. But more importantly: help reorganize and move out the old. CVS was more of an 'All Hands on Deck' scenario due to the sheer scope of the 21-building district. It took the full summer, but we were able to complete it just in time for new school year. Coming from one of our OG three column designs, Juniper was a good fit to keep everything feeling familiar while adding additional customizable areas.

- Full utilization of Juniper's distinct content areas and a 'mega' schools menu attractively organizing buildings by level.
- Unique spotlight stylings for interactive quicklinks, resources, and mission/vision area.
- Building themes customized to each schools colors/branding.
Help Me Grow Calhoun
'New Client' designation could be debatable, as the new Help Me Grow Calhoun site was built out on the existing Calhoun ISD website. The former Help Me Grow Calhoun website, however, was located on a different website platform entirely. After noticing fellow Foxbright partner Washtenaw ISD having their Help Me Grow Washtenaw page under the main ISD website, Calhoun ISD inquired about bringing their local Help Me Grow sites under their umbrella, keeping costs and staffing efforts down by not maintaining multiple separate websites on different platforms. With the original mockup incorporating a 3-column structure, the Juniper Design was the obvious choice.
Project Highlights
- Unique subsite design built into the main Calhoun ISD website presents like a separate website while under the same umbrella.
- Consolidated and stylized content helps visitors find needed resources, quickly.
- Additional version of the Help Me Grow subsite added for Help Me Grow Barry, also maintained by Calhoun ISD.
Branching Out
Every edition of Foxbright's new design roundup includes a few separate designs that can't be grouped by 'type', so keep reading for our final new sites for this season!

Michigan Data Hub - Oak Template
Michigan Data Hub is one of our more unique partners, offering services to schools statewide. By providing systems, data management, technology solutions and more, Michigan Data Hub's mission involves saving districts money and overhead through collaboration so they can focus on teaching and learning. Being a more nimble site with an emphasis on technology, Oak design was a strong contender with its modern orientation.

- Styled banner overlays offer interactive information delivery.
- Inheriting spotlight quicklinks allow visitors to remain a click away from all resources.
- Data-driven features such as spotlights, news, calendars paired with Oak's tab sections provide a slick interface for all content types.
Melvindale-Northern Allen Park Public Schools - Lotus Template
Having worked with us at a different district, the MelNAP team was already familiar with the Foxbright CMS. The name of the game at MelNAP was simplify and clean. After picking out a few district sites they liked, we landed on the Lotus design using it's alternate display method which brings back the traditional drop menu styles. We set out to migrate their content in a highly organized and consistent manner across the board.

- Strong focus on calendar events, being a primary driver of website visits.
- Employ news feeds to deliver video-based content and district updates.
- Huge attention on building content cleanup to ensure consistency and order.
What's Next?
School website updates come in seasonal waves, so the team enjoyed a quick breather after this round of launches and back-to-school busyness to focus on our next design drop and new release of the Foxbright CMS (I simply can't wait for our partners to see what we're cooking up). On the design end, we're well on our way to filling the new site schedule for the remaining 2026 months.
