To the Pines
Like a Pine tree's many branches, Foxbright's latest design template, Pine, offers many options! As often happens, Pine came to be while working on a partner's redesign project who liked an existing design with a few functions not currently available. Through collaboration, Pine was created with some of the favorite elements from the popular Kapok design, with additional future-proofing revamps. Many organizations are drawn to Kapok's horizontal structure with interactive motion effects (check, check). Pine draws from those elements while re-structuring the main navigation allowing for a more traditional top-of-page location, customizable behavior for each drop menu whether single or multiple column drop lists, and a new enhancement where each subpage can have it's own menu description to reveal on hover, providing context while navigating the site.
Another web trend is pulling back from the large full-width hero banners which was core for Kapok. Pine better supports various banner structures from full or width-restricted banners, to split-screen structures supporting text or other features to the side, floating welcome messages, and, as supported by all Foxbright designs, video banner capability.
Like any new design, the template is built with the latest and greatest inside page layout options which makes picking the best layout for each use-case easier, and providing tab-based layouts for use anywhere. The dedicated schools landing layout was revamped to provide structure flexibility, and an optional side navigation area that can seamlessly be used or refactored into other content when not needed. We're excited to dive deeper into the Pine design with upcoming projects exploring its flexibility.

Coopersville Area Public Schools, Redesign - Pine
Many of our template design development is a collaborative effort with clients who have an idea that doesn't quite fit in an existing template offering. Such is the story of Pine, which was built during Coopersville Area Public Schools redesign project. Being drawn to elements from Oak and Kapok, while hoping for a more traditional navigation structure, we pulled the best of all worlds for a professional look that wastes no time getting to the point, or rather, the content visitors need most.
Project Highlights
- Dedicated drone/classroom footage for district and building landing pages.
- Multiple, uniquely styled spotlight groups leading visitors toward the most necessary resources.
- Emphasis on visuals and district identity without feeling crowded.

Potterville Public Schools, New Client - Pine
We love when friends make new friends! Having worked with Potterville Public Schools (PPS) administration from their time at another district, it was a pleasant surprise to have a familiar face reach out for a new partnership. PPS wanted to streamline how their community accesses information, consolidate their building content, and show the world what makes being a Viking so special.
Project Highlights
- Strong focus on district pride and the Potterville community.
- Using Foxbright's full communication suite, PPS launched a Foxbright district app with mass communications along with the new website.
- Consolidated building pages with Pine's tab-based content area, allowing for fewer subpages.
Oak Design
Our 'previous newest' design, Oak, gained momentum this winter being tagged in for four new sites! With it's trademark left navigation and mobile-first functionality, Oak has solidified itself as a mainstay!
Integrity Educational Services Sites
Our long-time partners at Integrity Educational Services were ready for a revamp of their three core websites. Just as their previous designs, the idea was to use the same design across the board, tailored with themes to provide unique branding elements for each entity. Oak was well provisioned with it's modern appeal, and capabilities for combining pages for efficiency, and sharing resources between campuses.

Integrity Educational Services
- Centralized hub for IES, Hope Academy and Lighthouse Academy administrative support.
- Spotlights to emphasize organizational identity and values.
- Major consolidation effort to streamline content delivery and maintenance.

Hope Academy of West Michigan
- Interactive presentation of district recognitions and affiliations.
- Strong emphasis on Enrollment Resources.
- Overhaul of Board of Directors and required postings.

Lighthouse Academy
- Stylized Building List to present campus contact information attractively and efficiently.
- Consistent presentation for campus landing pages, consolidating each campus into a single full-featured page.
- Unification of shared resources to prevent duplicate or dated postings.
Benzie County Central Schools, New Client - Oak
Benzie County Central Schools (BCCS) was one of our earliest adopter for the Oak design, boasting strong colors and emphasis on Husky Pride. Their former website had many subpages and long menus, making it a challenge to find and update content, especially for mobile devices. A big effort for the project was unifying district-level information to make resources easier to find for students and community, and the ability for administrators to make a single update that applies across all buildings.
Project Highlights
- Spotlight quicklinks inheriting to all buildings reduced the reliance on lengthy drop menus.
- Utilyzing data-driven features like news to ensure the most relevant and timely information is displayed, while dated content can archive automatically.
- Interactive 'Husky Pride' spotlights to highlight district strengths.

A Walk in the Woods
Nothing conveys Spring like a nice walk in the woods to see various flowers blooming and trees beginning to bud and leaf at their own pace. Like a nature walk, other winter projects included a myriad of designs across our catalog.
Yankee Springs Time Trial, New Client - Magnolia
If you've read previous project roundup posts, you'd notice Foxbright has a 'thing' for biking organizations - several of us are serious bikers! Our revamp of the West Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance caught Yankee Springs Time Trial's eye and we were happy to oblige. The Magnolia design was a clear fit, with it's original inspiration being a clean and modern look for organizations.
Project Highlights
- Countdown ticker for upcoming events.
- Stylized button elements inspired by their logo and branding.
- Subtle and unique background graphics for inside pages, leaning into off-road riding.

Wyoming Public Schools, New Client - Juniper
We're excited to welcome our neighbors in Wyoming, MI to the Foxbright Family! Their previous site was getting long in the tooth with so many plugins and 3rd party development to get the function they needed, their team was ready for a more 'full service' educational platform. WPS' communications team is quite savvy and creative - even so, having Foxbright to call for dedicated features and professional design experience is paying dividends in time-saved so their staff can focus on the most important aspects of educating the next generations.
Project Highlights
- Uses Foxbright's new interpretation of the Juniper design, providing full-width tab sections instead of columns.
- Community Pride on display with stylized mission/vision and student success stories.
- Focus on building-level contacts and resources.
Athens Area Schools, New Client - Lotus
Athens Area Schools was ready for an upgrade from their previous provider, offering dedicated features and ease-of-use. The tab-based layouts boasted by the Lotus design allowed for streamlining of their building pages and more approachable menus.
Project Highlights
- Full Content Maintenance - Foxbright's 'white-glove' service where our team helps maintain their content, ensuring timely and compliant updates. A substantial time and money saver for districts without a dedicated communications team.
- Utilizes the the alternative Lotus structure which incorporates a traditional menu instead of the consolidated expanding menu.
- Spotlight quicklinks aligned with the hero banner ensures the most important resources are immediately available.

Marysville Public Schools, Redesign - Ironwood
Two viking districts in one roundup! A partner from the early days, Marysville Public Schools knows the value of a good redesign - both for a visual facelift, but an opportunity to be out with the old and in the with new (content). The flexibility of Ironwood offers abundant sections begging for custom styling.
Project Highlights
- Viking Spirit exemplified with floating points of pride content sections.
- Eye-catching resources and contact information above the fold.
- Focus on district branding without feeling heavy.
Shameless Plug - Foxbright Custom Redesign
Redesigns are a great opportunity to rethink your website content, ensuring what you're providing is the most relevant and up-to-date. Even if cosmetic updates are minimal, our recommendation is a full content audit every few years minimum - the more dated content an organization continues to provide, the harder it is for visitors to find what they need. As such, we refresh our site on a similar schedule. And as the best website providers should (in our opinion) do, our website is hosted on the same proprietary Foxbright CMS as our partner's websites. If you believe in the solution you're offering others, it comes to reason to use it yourself!
Project Highlights
- Main navigation aligned to the side for a modern twist, collapsing into a hamburger menu for inside pages, providing a 'mobile-first' experience.
- Leaning into the 'less is more' philosophy, clearly identified sections and breathing room to make content digestible.
- Tab-based section with a stylized Story Search for our design gallery page highlights the powerful Stories feature and some of our favorite work and available designs.
