Main Menu Rooting: Base URL Allows Rooting of Main Menu
Until the Ellington release, the only way to have a building page or other page have it's own main navigation separate from the home page navigation was to subsite the page. For most clients this solution was acceptable. Using the subsite feature causes the page's logo to link back to the subsite homepage, which is great for organizations using the building or other department logo for the login within the subsite. For clients wishing to have the main district/organization logo link back to the district homepage, the subsite function was not ideal. Foxbright's added a new column within menu settings to set the Base URL for the main navigation. This will restart the main navigation for the page without requiring a subsite. The Base URL setting functions similarly to how the Root setting functions for the side menu. When attempting to root a menu other than the main menu, 'Root' should be continued to be used as the Base URL setting is only designed for the main menu at this time.
Note: menu settings for a page can be found in a page's settings. Please contact [email protected] if you need assistance setting up the menu settings for a page.
