It may have seemed like a quiet Fall at Foxbright but we have been busy as ever. A large portion of the Havarti release revolved around updating the framework which our CMS runs on. While this update lies mostly in the back-end code, it will open the door for more dramatic client-facing changes in the future. Of course we had to sneak in a variety of useful enhancements and fixes as well. Read on!
New Features, Enhancements & Updates
- Upgraded CMS Framework - The building blocks of our CMS have been updated to the latest standards to increase security and improve performance.
- Updated Photo Carousel - Originally designed and styled for specific clients, the Photo Carousel Gallery option has been rebuilt from the ground up for immediate use by all!
- Introducing: FoxDocs - Cute name for a familiar concept. We'll be rolling out help tips around the control panel to provide info on some feature settings.
- Multiple Custom Forms Per Page - We've reworked submission protocols to allow multiple forms to be placed on the same page.
- Story Copy - Stories can now be copied to save time recreating a story similar to an existing story, or story 'template'.
- Job Post Links - The Job Post feature now supports links to a webaddress in addition to uploaded files.
- SchoolMessenger RSS Support - Added News RSS support from SchoolMessenger to allow sending posts from SchoolMessenger through a News Feed.
- Customization of Spotlights and Building Information - Additional settings have been added to Spotlights and Building Information blocks to allow better customization of what information is shown on a per-block level.
- Activate: Expandable Blocks - Last release we began rolling out the ability to add the Expandable function to a variety of block types. We've now enabled the option for the most requested block types, by default.
- ADA & SEO Improvements - Aria label fields added to photo gallery images, added keyboard navigation to news headlines. Added/improved canonical link structure for system-generated 'permalinks'.
- Social Media Sharing Made Easy - We've moved News 'quick share' function into it's own column for easier access.
